ROBERT B. SERINO JOINS BUCKLEY KOLAR LLP IN WASHINGTON, D.C. AS COUNSEL

Former Deputy Chief Counsel of the OCC An Expert on Money Laundering, the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act

Washington, DC, July 20, 2005- Buckley Kolar LLP, a leading Washington DC law firm specializing in financial services, announced today that Robert Serino has joined the firm as Counsel. Mr. Serino is a recognized expert on a range of issues affecting national banks including money laundering, the Bank Secrecy Act and the USA Patriot Act, supervisory activities, as well as regulatory enforcement powers and remedies.

Mr. Serino’s practice focuses on supervision, regulation, enforcement and regulatory relations issues related to the financial services industry. He represents clients before federal and state agencies on matters affecting their operations and advises clients on the requirements and issues involved in Suspicious Activity Reporting ("SAR"), Know Your Customer ("KYC") and various compliance problems.

Prior to joining Buckley Kolar, Mr. Serino was the Deputy Chief Counsel of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (“OCC”). During his twenty nine year career with the OCC, Mr. Serino assisted in managing the Law Department and oversaw the operations of four divisions and six District Counsels.

Mr. Serino received his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and his B.A. from Tufts University. He has testified before committees of the House of Representatives and the Senate on a range of topics including money laundering and the Bank Secrecy Act, problem banks and specific failures, and law enforcement issues, and is a frequent speaker on supervision and enforcement issues related to financial institutions and the financial services industry.
