FREDERIC SPINDEL JOINS BUCKLEY KOLAR LLP IN WASHINGTON DC

Practice Focuses on Corporate and Securities Transactions and Regulation

Buckley Kolar LLP of Washington, D.C., announced today the addition of a new partner, Frederic T. Spindel. Mr. Spindel has extensive experience in corporate and securities regulation. His practice encompasses mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity, and public and private debt and equity financings. He also counsels investment banks, investment advisory firms, broker-dealers, and hedge funds on compliance, governance and regulatory risk management. He has represented financial services firms and other clients in SEC, NASD and stock exchange investigations and enforcement proceedings, as well as in arbitrations and court litigations.

Prior to joining Buckley Kolar, Mr. Spindel was a partner in the Washington, DC office of Venable LLP. Prior to entering private practice he spent six years with the Securities and Exchange Commission, where he served as an Assistant General Counsel and subsequently served as Deputy General Counsel to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Mr. Spindel received his J.D. with honors from the University of Texas, and his B.A. from Cornell University. He is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, has served as an arbitrator for the National Futures Association, and has been a legal advisor to securities commissions and stock exchanges in various countries throughout the world in developing laws and regulations governing the financial sector and capital markets.
