    • On November 17, 2005, Jeff Naimon spoke at the Source Media Subprime Lending Symposium in Miami, FL on Regulatory Trends in Subprime Lending.  For a copy of his presentation, see “Nonprime Lending Regulatory Trends.”
    • On November 4, 2005 an article written by Bob Serino was published in the American Banker entitled “Now Every Bank Must Do A BSA Risk Assessment.”  In the article, Mr. Serino discusses the importance of financial institutions performing their own risk assessments prior to a Bank Secrecy Act or Anti-Money laundering examination, and suggests that readers refer to FIFEC’s "Bank Secrecy Act Anti-Money Laundering Examination Manual," issued June 30, 2005, which similarly places a great deal of importance on banks performing their own risk assessment, and details examination procedures for agencies to follow during BSA or AML examinations.

    • Bob Serino was quoted in an article titled “FinCEN Preps Suspicious Activity Report Sharing Guidance” published in the September 5, 2005 issue of Compliance Reporter.  In the article, Mr. Serino states his support for FinCEN developing guidance with federal banking agencies regarding what kind of information affiliates within an entity can share about potential wrongdoings.  For more information, see www.compliancereporter.com.

    • On July 15, 2005, Joe Kolar was quoted in a National Mortgage News Online article titled “Appeals Court Backs OCC on Pre-emption.” The article covers the recent U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit decision in Wachovia Bank v. Burke, for which Joe Kolar and Jerry Buckley participated in the preparation of an amicus brief filed on behalf of industry trade associations, supporting the OCC position.
