BUCKLEY KOLAR LLP ADDS FOUR ATTORNEYS TO GROWING FINANCIAL SERVICES PRACTICE

Frederic T. Spindel and Sara E. Emley Join as Partners, T. Lane Macalester as Counsel and Kirk D. Jensen as Associate

Washington, DC, June 22, 2005- Buckley Kolar LLP, a leading Washington DC law firm specializing in financial services, announced today the addition of four attorneys to its growing practice.

Fred Spindel joins Buckley Kolar as a Partner, bringing more than twenty years of private practice experience in corporate and securities transactions and regulation. Mr. Spindel advises financial services companies and other business entities across a broad spectrum of matters, with a particular focus on mergers, asset and stock acquisitions and restructurings, as well as private equity, venture capital and other public and private financings. Another principal component of his practice involves acting as counsel to asset managers, securities brokerage firms, investment banks and hedge funds. He has represented securities professionals and others in investigative and other securities enforcement matters. Mr. Spindel was formerly a partner in the Washington, DC office of Venable LLP. Prior to entering private practice he spent six years with the Securities and Exchange Commission, where he served as an Assistant General Counsel, and subsequently was Deputy General Counsel to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Also joining Buckley Kolar as a Partner is Sara Emley. Ms. Emley specializes in advising financial services firms, including investment advisers, broker-dealers, banks, investment companies, private funds and insurance companies on investment adviser, investment company, and broker-dealer regulatory issues. In addition, she assists clients in making various filings with regulators and represents clients in examinations, investigations and proceedings brought by the Securities & Exchange Commission and self-regulatory organizations Ms.Emley was formerly Counsel in the Washington, DC office of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr.

Lane Macalester joins Buckley Kolar as Counsel, and brings a wide range of experience in insurance, technology, and health care law. Ms. Macalester advises financial services providers on federal and state regulatory and transactional matters, including insurance, HIPAA and related privacy laws, information technology and e-commerce. Prior to joining Buckley Kolar, she served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of RxHub LLC. She also served as Regional General Counsel of New York Life’s health insurance division and as Assistant General Counsel for UnitedHealth Group.

Kirk Jensen joins Buckley Kolar as an associate, and will advise clients on a variety of regulatory, compliance and transactional issues arising under federal and state laws relating to consumer financial services. Before joining Buckley Kolar, Mr. Jensen was an associate with Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC in Charlotte, North Carolina, and an associate in the Washington, DC office of Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering.
