R. Colgate Selden provides regulatory and transactional advice on a range of matters involving federal and state credit laws including those dealing with real estate settlement procedures, truth in lending, fair lending, alternative mortgage transactions, disclosures, licensing, usury, fees, servicing and loan product development. Mr. Selden has represented a wide variety of financial services clients, including mortgage companies, home builders, insurance companies, federal and state chartered banks, credit unions, bank holding companies, investment banks, investment funds, finance companies and debt collection companies.
Mr. Selden is a member of the Consumer Financial Services Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of Business Law. Mr. Selden is also a member of the Corporation, Finance and Securities Law Section of the District of Columbia Bar Association and the Business Law Section of the Maryland Bar Association.
Mr. Selden is the author of "The Executive Protection: Freezing the Financial Assets of Alleged Terrorists, the Constitution, and Foreign Participation in U.S. Financial Markets," 8 Fordham Journal of Corporate & Financial Law 491 (2003).
Prior to joining Buckley Kolar, Mr. Selden was an associate with Weiner Brodsky Sidman Kider PC.
